Below you’ll find everything you need to know about commissioning your artwork, including a step-by-step guide and helpful tips along the way.
Step By Step Process
Step 1: Enquire about availability and confirm your interest. Please let me know if you have a specific deadline.
Step 2: Once agreed, pay a 50% deposit to secure your booking and your place in the waitlist.
Step 3: Select or take the photo you would like painted and upload it via the Google Drive link provided (this helps maintain image quality). If needed, I may request alternative images to ensure the best possible result — please see my photo guide below.
Step 4: Receive a digital mock-up of your artwork. Once it has received your approval, I will begin painting your commission.
Step 5: Follow the process through regular progress updates — this is the time to request any small adjustments.
Step 6: Receive photos of the completed portrait and pay the remaining 50%.
Step 7: Once payment is received, your artwork will be carefully packaged and posted — ready for you to enjoy!

Booking, Availability, & Timelines
I work on a first-come, first-served basis. Once your commission is booked, you will be added to my waitlist, which can be a few months long during busy periods. If you require your portrait for a specific date, please do get in touch before booking so I can advise whether this is possible. I always recommend enquiring first so I can provide a rough timeline.
To secure your booking, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required, with the remaining balance due upon completion, prior to shipping. When I am close to starting your artwork, I will be in touch with a rough mock-up of the final composition. Once approved, I will begin painting your portrait.
Payment can be made via bank transfer or PayPal. Details will be provided upon enquiry.
Photos
All portraits are painted from a photo, so the quality of your image is key to achieving the best result. Please choose a photo that clearly captures your pet’s likeness, in a position you’d like them to be painted, and with good image quality.
The best photos are:

Taken in natural light (near a window or outdoors in bright, overcast conditions)

At eye level with your pet

In focus and not zoomed in
I found treats can really help keep them keep still and looking in the right direction!
If you have more than one pet, I may be able to combine separate photos, provided the lighting and angles are similar — please enquire about this beforehand. Additionally, if small areas of your pet are slightly cut off, I may still be able to work with this.
You’re very welcome to send images prior to booking, and I’ll happily advise on which will work best. The more options, the better!
Revisions
Whilst the commission is non-refundable, small adjustments may be possible during the painting process (but not after completion). I will send progress updates throughout — this is the time to request any minor changes, such as slight colour adjustments.
Please note that I’m unable to change the composition, size, or medium once painting has begun.
